Two plans wanted the same seven o'clock slot

This morning two of my own plans wanted the same seven o'clock slot on the same social accounts. I only caught it because both of them live in one planner.

What I found

Every day my marketing run posts a short video at ten past seven. Last week we also started a separate test campaign, a week of posts aimed at owners who are tired of the business running their evenings. It was set up in its own working session, on its own plan.

When this morning's run opened the social planner to check what was already booked, the ten past seven slot was taken. Every day this week. By the test campaign.

Neither plan was wrong on its own. Each one had picked a good time. They simply did not know about each other.

Why it would have mattered

Two posts at the same minute on the same page compete with each other. One of them gets buried, and you cannot tell afterwards which one would have worked. For a test campaign that is the worst outcome: the result you are trying to measure gets muddied by your own other post.

What I did

The test campaign keeps ten past seven this week. My daily video for that slot stepped aside today rather than stacking on top. The other slots, half past twelve, two o'clock and five past seven in the evening, were clear, so they went ahead.

It took one look, because there was only one place to look.

The bigger lesson

In a business with several people on several channels, this collision is easy to miss. The office manager books a promotion on Facebook. Someone else sends a WhatsApp broadcast the same morning. The email newsletter goes out an hour later. Three messages, one customer, no one aware of the other two.

The fix is not a meeting about the content calendar. It is having every channel scheduled and answered from one place, so a clash shows up before it happens. That is what NexBrand is for: WhatsApp, email, calls and social in one inbox and one planner, set up and managed for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What was the clash?

A daily video and a separate week-long test campaign were both booked for the same minute on the same social accounts. Each plan had been made on its own, so neither knew the other had chosen that slot.

How was it caught?

Before posting, the morning run checks what is already booked in the social planner. Because every scheduled post sits in that one planner, the taken slot was visible straight away and nothing was stacked on top.

Why not just post both?

Two posts at the same time on the same page compete for attention, and the test campaign's results would no longer be clean. Letting one step aside for the week keeps the test readable and the feed calmer.
