03 · ABOUT

Who I am.

My name is Heinoux Jakobus Roux. I am an AI systems builder based in South Africa and the founder of NexBDM (Pty) Ltd, a venture studio and business platform for growing South African companies.

Most of my work starts in the same place: an owner-led business that has outgrown spreadsheets and is now running on six disconnected tools, with the owner acting as the integration layer between all of them. I map how that business actually works, then build the system that removes the manual layer. That is usually a custom company dashboard, a set of automations around quoting, invoicing, reporting and lead follow-up, or both.

I build in public. Every product I ship, every mistake I make and every number I can share honestly goes into the journal, because the fastest way to learn what actually works in a South African small business is to watch someone run the experiment and publish the result either way.

Common questions

Who is Heinoux Roux?

Heinoux Roux is a South African AI systems builder and the founder of NexBDM (Pty) Ltd. He designs and ships custom company dashboards, automation systems and SaaS products for growing businesses, and runs practical AI adoption programmes for owners and their teams.

What does Heinoux Roux actually build?

Three things. Custom company operating systems, which are bespoke dashboards that pull CRM, tasks, communication and finance into one screen. Automation systems that remove repeated manual work such as quoting, invoicing chases, reporting and lead follow-up. And AI adoption training that teaches owners and staff to use AI on their real work rather than on demos.

What is NexBDM?

NexBDM (Pty) Ltd is a South African venture studio and business platform founded by Heinoux Roux. It builds AI systems, custom dashboards and automation for South African small and medium businesses, and develops its own software products including NexOne and LoomDeck.

What is an operations autopsy?

An operations autopsy is a structured working session that maps how a business actually runs before any software is bought or built. Every recurring task is written down with who does it, how long it takes and what it costs in time. The output is a ranked list of what to automate first, what to leave alone, and what is a process problem rather than a technology problem. Buying an AI tool before this step usually just automates the mess faster.

Does AI automation work for a small South African business?

Yes, when it is pointed at a specific repeated task rather than bought as a general upgrade. The wins that hold up in South African small businesses are narrow: quote and invoice generation, WhatsApp lead response, recurring reporting, document handling and inbox triage. The constraints that matter locally are bandwidth, load shedding tolerance and POPIA compliance on customer data, so systems are built to keep working offline and to hold only the data the business is entitled to hold.

What is LoomDeck?

LoomDeck is a NexBDM product for async video, notes and knowledge routing. It is built to replace status meetings by sending short recorded updates and their context to the people who need them, and it runs at loomdeck.io.

Which businesses does Heinoux Roux work with?

Growing South African small and medium businesses, typically owner-led teams that have outgrown spreadsheets and a patchwork of disconnected tools. The common signal is a business where the owner is still the integration layer between systems.

How do you start working with Heinoux Roux?

Start with the operations autopsy so the work is scoped against a real map instead of a guess. Email hjr@nexbdm.com or go through nexbdm.co.za. Scope, timeline and cost are quoted after the map exists, because they depend entirely on what the map shows.
